When asked to write about #FragranceInRelationships, only one thing came to my mind. So here’s a small dedication to one of my most important relationships, which is anchored quite strongly in its fragrance.
I’d love to hear about what you think of when you imagine the scent of a loved one.
Inhale…two…three…four. Exhale…two…three…four.
Breathe. Steady. Don’t fall down to the floor.
Can you see? Not yet. Do you smell it? Yes.
Walk gently till you feel it, the warm caress.
I’ve made it. It transforms me. My first relationship with me.
Coming up for air, but only just. I plunge back into the black beauty.
The day goes on, that essence lingers.
Drawing me back for more; the shivers.
It started as a simple thing-to-do, time that needed to be passed
But oh that bitter sweet harmony; my essential companion at last.
They laugh at me. Even said I may be obsessed.
Perhaps I have a disorder. I admit it’s not the best.
From hunting the lanes in far off lands, to a finding a local haunt.
What would I call it? A gift. An indulgence. A necessity. A flaunt.
Bringing warmth to my hands as I wait, never in vain.
Keeping my mind sharp as it is battered; igniting my brain.
It’s like my 42. My answer to everything, good or bad.
The best of times & conversations, all things that makes me glad
Walks in the park, cold wintry mornings and hot summer nights.
A perfect start, the poignant pause, an endless tunnel’s end-lights.
Can you see? Not yet. Do you smell it? Yes.
The intoxicating fragrance that spells happiness.
I’ve found the shore to tether my thoughts afloat at sea
My most cherished relationship, with my cup of Coffee!
